Senior Healthcare Program Specialist - DPDM in Albany, NY

The Health Home program is a NYS Medicaid program that provides comprehensive Care Management services aimed to improve quality of life and health outcomes to enrolled members. Since its implementation in 2011 as part of Governor Cuomo’s Medicaid Redesign the Health Home program continues to grow as other care management programs are rolled into the Health Home program. The office of Health Insurance Programs is seeking an energetic and innovative Senior Healthcare Program Specialist. This individual will work as an integral member of the Health Home program data team to help maintain and manage the Health Home data system of record, the MAPP HHTS.

DUTIES:

  • Assists co-workers in prioritizing competing system change needs due to Health Home and Medicaid policy changes, system defects and changing system requirements
  • Logs and monitors the status of system defects and enhancements using the current system of record
  • Reviews design documents and other system change documentation
  • Tests system changes
  • Develops training materials, provide system updates and notifications, create materials, leads webinars, and is available to providers to help them understand system logic and changes
  • Reviews Health Home policy guidance as it relates to the Health Home system; provides guidance on policy implementation within the system
  • Updates and distributes file format documents and specifications to reflect changes as they are implemented in the system
  • Responds to provider questions using the Remedy Salesforce System
  • Assists with other Health Home related projects and data requests as needed
  • Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of OHIP

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity/Proficiency with excel
  • Strong analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • The ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Experience gathering, defining, and testing system requirements (preferred, but not required)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in business, public administration, economics, management, or public health preferred.
  • Five years’ experience.
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, NYS public health insurance programs (e.g Medicaid, Managed Care, CHPlus, FHPlus) preferred.
